Why Families Choose Seeds of Faith
Specialized Programs
Students receive instruction in art, computer, and STEM from kindergarten through grade 12. Our Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) graciously funded a yearlong membership to the ARIN STEM Lending Library, providing teachers with hands on resources to enhance classroom learning.
Partnership with Parents and Accountability
Families and educators work together to support the whole child, academically, spiritually, and emotionally. Parents are actively involved through the Parent Teacher Fellowship, classroom assistance, and meaningful family engagement. We value strong accountability and strive to maintain open, consistent communication with parents. We are deeply grateful to our parent volunteers who support PTF, assist in the administrative office, and help with fundraising. This partnership between parents and teachers creates a safe, supportive Christian environment where students can thrive.
Christ Centered Education
Faith is woven into every subject, helping students grow academically and spiritually while developing a biblical worldview. Our Christ centered mission is rooted in faith and aligned with family values. We use the Abeka Christian curriculum to support this mission.
Strong Moral Foundation
Biblical values such as integrity, kindness, respect, mindfulness, compassion, consideration for others, and responsibility are reinforced daily.
Safe and Nurturing Environment
Students are known, valued, and loved in a school community that feels like family.
Academic Excellence and Rigor
We maintain high expectations and are committed to helping and challenging each child to reach their God given potential through personalized instruction.
Personalized Learning Environment
Instruction is adapted by adjusting pace, offering enrichment activities, and encouraging peer study groups. Students are placed and advanced in subjects based on progress, completion, and demonstrated growth throughout the year. High school students also learn a second language, Spanish or French, through Liberty University Online Academy.
Small Class Sizes
Small class sizes allow for more one on one attention, stronger teacher student relationships, and individualized support. This focus on each student’s learning, growth, and academic progress provides a level of attention often unavailable in traditional public school settings.
Strong Teacher Involvement
Teachers and staff work in partnership with parents to support student success. Every teacher and non teaching staff member has students on their hearts and prays for them daily. Teachers thoughtfully research and implement a variety of creative and engaging instructional strategies to meet the needs of every learner, ensuring each child is supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Purpose Beyond the Classroom and Community Service
Students are prepared not just for the next grade, but for life, learning leadership, service, and compassion for others. Through our Mentor Mentee program, older and younger students are paired together. Students visit senior living communities monthly to read, sing, and complete crafts with residents. High school students have partnered with a local organization to build and install a wheelchair ramp. Weekly chapel services and guest speakers encourage students and share testimonies of faith through life’s challenges. Our goal is to graduate well rounded young Christian men and women who are ready to make a positive impact in a challenging world.
Socialization and Enrichment
Students participate in clubs, enrichment activities, and both virtual and in person field trips. Current offerings include Art Club, individual after school music lessons, Junior Dance cheerleading, and a middle school Chess Club. The PTF recently hosted a Daddy Daughter Dance with over 70 attendees from the school and community, creating cherished memories. Upcoming field trips include Washington, D.C. museums for grades 4 through 12, the Pittsburgh Aviary for grades 1 through 3, and a one day camping trip to Wesley Woods Christian Camp for grades 7 through 12. Daily social interaction helps students build friendships and develop strong social skills.
Structured Extracurricular Activities
Students have access to clubs, sports, music, dance, theater, competitions, and enrichment programs. Students have participated in choral festivals, and our annual theater production, The Rainbow Fish, is directed by Mrs. Bruno. Senior students also spread Christmas cheer by painting holiday window displays for local downtown businesses under the guidance of Ms. Duchon.
Athletic Opportunities
Students may participate in sports offered by their home school district if a sport is not available at Seeds of Faith. Students have competed in football and volleyball through West Shamokin. We currently offer elementary and varsity basketball and welcome partnerships that allow students to grow in athletic skill, sportsmanship, teamwork, and love for the game.
College and Career Preparation
High school students receive guidance and preparation for future academic and career paths. Opportunities include visits to IUP Career Day, academic tours of the Indiana County Technology Center, dual enrollment at technical centers, and dual enrollment opportunities at IUP. These experiences help students explore career options, trades, and college pathways to make informed decisions about their futures.
