Philosophy and Mission

Curriculum

The academic program at SFCA is specifically designed to meet students’ developmental needs while providing opportunities to learn in a variety of modalities -- from the classroom to field trips to hands-on experiences. In order to best prepare students for a lifetime of learning, education must teach children how to learn, how to think critically, as well as how to study and conduct research. Our curriculum emphasizes these skills while instilling the sense of delight that comes from exploring and discovering new knowledge and insights.

Chapel

The foundation of any educational program begins with the quest for truth. We believe that truth cannot be found apart from Scripture. With this in mind, weekly Chapel classes along with daily Bible lessons provide solid Bible teaching with the intent of developing a strong moral framework and a biblical worldview. The New International Version (NIV) of the Bible is used throughout the school for study and memorization. In order to maintain consistency, this is the only Bible version used in the classroom.

Affiliation & Accreditation

SFCA is a member of Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), which provides services for implementing school excellence, as well as resources specifically geared toward the unique needs of children. SFCA has begun the accreditation process through ACSI’s STAR Program. The STAR Program is a formal process emphasizing school excellence, leading to school recognition and ultimately accreditation.
